Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This policy explains what happens to information when you use BillLark. The short version: your invoice content never leaves your device.
1. Invoice data stays in your browser
The invoice generator runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Business details, client details, line items, logo images and saved clients are written to your browser's local storage on your own device. They are not transmitted to us and we have no way to read them.
Clearing your browser data, using private browsing, or switching to another device or browser will make that saved data unavailable. Print or save your invoices as PDF if you need a permanent copy.
2. Information we do collect
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, time) for security and abuse prevention. These are retained for a short period.
- Email. If you contact us or buy Pro, we receive your email address and the payment confirmation from our payment partner. We use it only to deliver the product and respond to you.
- Aggregate analytics. We may use privacy-friendly analytics to count page views so we know which tools are used. This does not identify you.
3. Country lookup
To set sensible defaults — currency, tax label and paper size — the invoice generator asks a third-party lookup service, ipwho.is, which country your IP address is in. That request goes directly from your browser; we do not receive, store or log the result. You can override the detected country at any time with the country selector in the generator, and the tool still works if the lookup is blocked.
4. Cookies and advertising
This site may display advertising served by Google AdSense and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies via aboutads.info.
Where required by law, a consent message will ask for your permission before non-essential cookies are set.
5. Payments
Pro subscriptions are processed by a third-party payment provider. We never see or store your card details. The provider's own privacy policy governs the payment information you give them.
6. Your rights
Because we do not hold your invoice content, most data requests are best served by clearing your own browser storage. For anything we do hold — such as support emails — you can ask us to access, correct or delete it by writing to the address below.
7. Children
BillLark is a business tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
