Questions freelancers ask
Is it really free, or free until I try to download?
The generator is free and there is no download lock. Free invoices carry a one-line “Created with BillLark” footer. Pro removes it, keeps a saved client list and adds reusable templates.
Where is my data stored?
In your browser's local storage on your own device. Nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browser data will clear saved invoices, so save the PDF before you switch devices.
Does it handle US sales tax?
Yes. Type your own tax label and rate — Sales Tax for US clients, VAT for the UK, GST for Australia. USD is the default currency, and the layout prints correctly on both Letter and A4 paper.
Do I need an account to get paid?
No. Add your bank details or payment link in the notes field and your client pays you directly. We do not process payments, so we do not take a cut.
Is an invoice without a signature valid?
In most US states a clear invoice with your business details, a unique number, dates, a description of the work and the amount due is enough. Check your local rules if you are unsure.
